This is the first stage of a Pokemon. Eggs hatch into Pokemon over time. On VDex, Pokemon have to be manually hatched when they're ready. Eggs can be obtained from the daycare, where the mother will pass down the lowest evolutionary form of its species to the egg. Mystery Eggs can also be obtained from the Gacha Corner, which can hatch into any one of the 649 known Pokemon, including legendary and/or otherwise unobtainable Pokemon. Gacha eggs can not hatch into a Missing No. or event Pokemon.
